Tell the Federal Housing Finance Agency to stand up to the big Wall Street banks!

A banking industry lobby group known as SIFMA is fighting a commonsense proposal that could help stem the damage caused by the housing crisis in communities across America. They're using every dirty trick in the book -- including influencing the powerful Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) to do its dirty work.

But now that the FHFA has a new director, the agency has the opportunity to go in a new direction -- one that supports communities instead of investment banks. Tell Mel Watt, the FHFA's new leader, to support eminent domain.

The Message

Director Watt,

I urge you to publicly support the use of eminent domain to combat the foreclosure crisis. A growing number of cities are exploring this promising new solution to protect struggling homeowners, but up to now their efforts have been hampered by threats from both SIFMA and your agency. Your support could turn the tide and encourage more municipal governments to protect their communities through the responsible use of eminent domain to help underwater homeowners who are getting no relief from their lenders.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]
