Tell the California Public Utilities Commission: Stop Comcast
California is all about diversity, that’s why we love it. But if Comcast gets its way, one important kind of diversity will be no more. Comcast is trying to take over its competitor Time Warner Cable, and we need to stop it.
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) — charged with regulating telecommunications in California — will be making a decision on the merger this week. As one of the largest markets for cable and Internet, California has the attention of the Federal Communication Commission, the national body that will ultimately decide the fate of this terrible proposed merger.
Commissioner Catherine Sandoval is a key member of the CPUC. She’s an antitrust scholar and the commission’s first Latina. She has to know this merger is a bad deal, but she will have an easier time fighting it if she knows Presente members have her back. If Sandoval and the rest of CPUC hear from enough California residents we can stop this merger dead in its tracks.
Tell Commissioner Sandoval and the rest of the CPUC to stop Comcast from stealing the internet.
