Tell Facebook: Attacking The Environment Is Not Pro-Immigrant
One of the first actions taken by the new political group founded by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been to spend over $1 million in advertisements attacking the environment. It’s part of a cynical strategy to support issues conservative lawmakers care about in hopes that they’ll support immigration reform in return.
Attacking the environment is not the way to get immigration reform done. It threatens the dignity by which affected communities have stood up and demanded immigration reform be put on the agenda.
But Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook care a lot about their image, especially because most of the people bankrolling this new political group are pro-environment. If thousands of us blow this story up by signing and sharing this petition on Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg will be forced to back off the ads or face huge funder and community backlash.
If 15,000 people stand up and tell Facebook this is not okay, Presente.org will work with leading environmental groups like Sierra Club to hold Facebook accountable and make sure they never fund anti-environmental ads again. Can you sign and share this on Facebook to make sure Mark Zuckerberg sees it?
