Tell Illinois Speaker: Move Drivers' Licenses For Immigrants Bill Now

UPDATE: The Illinois House passed the bill 65-46! Gov. Pat Quinn said he'd sign it! This petition will no longer send emails to Rep. Madigan's office, but continue to sign if you want to get updates from Presente.org.

ORIGINAL: Democrat Illinois Speaker of the House, Michael Madigan, has until Jan. 8 to pass a bill that would allow all immigrants to earn drivers' licenses in Illinois, but, right now, there's no indication he's going to work to pass it.

The bill S.B. 957, would allow 250,000 undocumented immigrants in Illinois to drive without fear of being deported. It will also make Illinois roads safer by testing, registering, licensing, and insuring all Illinois drivers.

Latinos delivered for Democrats in Illinois.  Now it's time for them to deliver.

NOTE: When you sign this petition an email will be sent directly to Speaker Madigan's office.

The Message

To Rep. Michael Madigan, Illinois Speaker of the House:

Latinos helped deliver in the 2012 elections.  Now, it's time for you to deliver.  S.B. 957 passed with an overwhelming majority in the Illinois Senate, and now it's time for you to pass it through Illinois House.

As you know, S.B. 957 would allow 250,000 undocumented immigrants in Illinois to drive without fear and make Illinois roads safer.

Latinos are watching in Illinois and around the country and its time for you to step up.
