We Are Pancho and the 99%: Jail Bankers Not Immigrants

Update: Pancho has been released -- INCREDIBLE NEWS. Unfortunately he's not out of the woods yet.  Sign up below to get updates on how you can help Pancho fight his deportation order.

Francisco “Pancho” Ramos-Stierle was arrested on Monday as he was sitting in silent, non-violent protest against the deep inequality that pervades our society and affects so many Latinos and immigrants.

But what makes Pancho different from so many of the "Occupy" protestors who have been arrested is that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is trying to deport him. Pancho's information was immediately passed from local police to immigration officials through the Secure Communities (S-COMM) program. So even though the *charges against him were dropped*, he is still under federal immigration hold.  ICE has less than 48 hours to either take him into federal custody or release him and cancel his deportation.

Sign this petition to tell ICE: "We are Pancho. We are the 99%.  We want S-COMM and the detention and deportation of people like Pancho to stop."

The Message

We will get this message to Pancho's congresspeople, and the Obama administration's Immigration and Custom's Enforcement (ICE):

To Whom It May Concern,

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should not be wasting valuable resources in this time of economic crisis deporting someone like Francisco "Pancho" Ramos-Stierle.  Pancho is a hero organizing to find solutions for the economy, it doesn't make sense to spend money detaining him and trying to deport him.

In addition, ICE should not be cooperating with local police through dangerous program like Secure Communities (S-COMM) which make all of us less safe when people like Pancho get swept up and migrant communities are fearful of interacting with the police.

We are Pancho. We are the 99%.  We want S-COMM and the detention and deportation of people like Pancho to stop.
