Where are the Latinos on Saturday Night Live?

In the 40 years since the legendary show began, Saturday Night Live’s producers have hired only three Latino actors and zero Latino writers. It seems the long-running sketch comedy series has a race problem -- and that’s no joke.

America has become more diverse, but SNL remains stuck in the black and white era of television in the 1970s. Please join us in asking executive producer Lorne Michaels to commit to hiring Latino writers and actors on Saturday Night Live.

The Message

Below is the statement we'll send to Lorne Michaels, Executive Producer of Saturday Night Live, on your behalf:

Dear Mr. Michaels,

I'm writing to urge you to hire more Latino writing and acting talent at Saturday Night Live. SNL both reflects and influences American culture -- it simply isn't responsible in 2013, when America is becoming more and more diverse, to exclude Latinos and Latino perspectives from SNL.

Sincerely,
