Tell the DMV -- make sure all immigrants can apply for driver's licenses!
Last fall, California made history when the state legislature passed and the Governor signed AB 60 into law, granting driver’s licenses to all residents regardless of immigration status.
But right now, the DMV is working fast to develop regulations that will determine exactly how the application process will work.
Considerations include how the DMV will ask applicants about their immigration status and what documents will be accepted in the application.
We fought for a law that made sure that licenses would be accessible to all the 1.4 million undocumented immigrants who stand to benefit from qualifying for a driver's license!
Tell the DMV to make sure that all immigrants are able to apply for an AB 60 driver’s license in California!
