Farmworkers Feed America: Tell Publix to Treat Them Right

A hunger strike is being waged right now by 70 farmworkers and allies at Publix corporate headquarters.

These mostly Latino farmworkers consistently face violations of their worker rights, and they are asking Publix to join other corporations like Trader Joe’s and Subway and sign onto the Fair Food Program. The program includes pay increases for tomato pickers and prevents human rights violations against farmworkers.

This Saturday, they will deliver this message to Publix CEO and Chairman and we need to create a groundswell of public support to move Publix to join on. This type of campaign has worked before and now we need Publix to join the Fair Food Program.

Can you sign onto this petition to Publix CEO and Chairman and tell them that you want them to meet with the fasters and that Publix needs to join the Fair Food Program right now.

The Message

Tell Publix CEO Ed Crenshaw and Chairman Charles Jenkins:

Publix is recognized as an associate and family-friendly company. Now we need you to stand up for farmworker families by joining the Coalition of Immokalee Workers' Fair Food Program which includes pay increases for -- and prevents human rights violations against -- the farmworkers who pick your tomatoes.
