California is on the verge of leading the country, again — by boldly increasing green energy production while reducing fossil fuel emissions!
State Senator Kevin De Leon is sponsoring SB 350, the Clean Energy and Pollution Reduction Act of 2015, a bold plan to increase our state's commitment to stopping climate change AND to make sure that communities of color reap the benefits — green jobs, cleaner air, cheaper energy, healthier lives, and shared prosperity.
Predictably, California's oil and energy corporations oppose SB 350, and they have lots of friends in the legislature, including some Latinos who will work on their behalf to sink the bill in the State Legislature. Will you sign our petition asking Gov. Brown and the CA Legislature to support SB350? Only strong grassroots support from Latinos and our allies can derail the oil industry’s strategy. Why should we ever let an industry that prioritizes fossil fuel over clean energy continue to shut Latinos and other communities of color out of the growing clean energy economy? They’ve profited off of polluting Latino families’ neighborhoods enough!
